Parade or Race Clean-up

The City-Parish Landscape Division is responsible for keeping City-Parish streets clean and free of leaves, trash and debris. Street sweeping not only keeps our streets cleaner and safer, but it also reduces health hazards by ensuring trash doesn’t become a place for insects and rodents to live.

Sweepers also respond to special needs for sweeping, such as broken glass after an accident, debris after a storm, or in the case of a parade. In addition to mechanical sweeping, the Department of Maintenance also regularly dispatches crew to pick up litter along major streets and highways.

To request street sweeping in your area, please contact 3-1-1 with as much information as possible surrounding the need for street sweeping, including any recent events such as parades or races that may have taken place recently. Or, for more information on the City-Parish’s parade clean-up process, please contact the Landscape Management Office at (225) 389-3250.

Street sweeping and routine litter collection on State of Louisiana highway routes will not be handled by the City-Parish Department of Maintenance. This is considered to be State property and is thus the responsibility of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to maintain.
