Illegal Landfilling
It is illegal for any private person or entity to establish or permit the establishment of a private dump on any public or private property within the parish, with the exception of the industrial areas as defined in the Plan of Government or without having first obtained a permit for such operations from the City-Parish. Issuance of this permit is subject to the approval and concurrence of the Baton Rouge Department of Public Works, the Health Unit, the Capital Improvements Committee and Metro Council.
Violations of this ordinance, which are further summarized in Sect. 6:422-423 of the Baton Rouge Code of Ordinances, are serious offenses that involve fines and penalties to be levied by the City-Parish.
